Cheryl M. "Cheb" Wade

Cheryl M. “Cheb” Wade, 65, of Mingo Junction, OH, passed away Tuesday April 2, 2024 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville.

She was born Dec. 3, 1958 in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Theresa Ann (Fristick) and John O. Wade.

Cheryl worked in the shoe department at the former Treasurer Island in Steubenville then she worked at First Data in Toronto where she made many lifelong friends. Known by all that loved her as Chebbie, with her infectious laugh and quick wit, she was everyone's favorite person. Cheryl was the family matriarch and common thread that kept family and friends together. There wasn't a person in her life that wasn't touched by her giving heart, endless compassion and listening ears. Even in her years of sickness, she was always concerned with what she could do for others. 

Surviving are three sisters, Deborah Wade-Lloyd of Wintersville, OH, Pam (Barry Sr.) Edwards of Mingo Junction, OH and Mary Wade of Galloway, OH; six nieces and nephews, Chelsea Lloyd, Sean Lloyd and his fiancé Tashea Smith, Jami (Aren) Edwards-Barbee, Barry Edwards, Jr., Jordan Edwards, and Cassandra Schneelock; a great-nephew, Areste Barbee, who she loved to give Indian rope burns to; her very special lifelong friend, Mike Monigold; and one special little girl, McKailah Shifflett.

Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, OH on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. the time of her memorial service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. John D. Ater, officiating.
